As much as I love romance, I do really enjoy an engrossing, twisty thriller. Famous Last Words is about a new mother, Camille, who is ready to return to work, and on her first day back, she finds out her husband is the subject of a breaking news story in which he is holding 3 people hostage.
Overall, I thought it was well written, but the pace was off for me. A lot of the intricacies of the personal life of the detective investigating the case just seemed pointless to me and didn't really serve the story in any way. The ending felt rushed, and it really wasn't much of a "twist." However, I really can appreciate how Camille never stopped loving and believing in her husband throughout the story.
If you like slow-burn conclusions, you may enjoy this book.
