Throwback – Memorable Book That Starts With the Letter ‘F’

It is time for my Memorable Book letter D. My friend Ashley over at Thrifty Bibliophile created the meme Throwback Thursday- Memorable Book That Starts With the Letter…Again, I don’t think I will post these on Thursdays but, I am doing them anyway. I have fun with these even though some of these I can’t remember much besides the name lol.

OMG WHO REMEMBERS THIS QUEEN? I loved the Junie B. Jones books so much. Besides Camy Baker’s Love, You Like a Sister Junie B. was my childhood in books. I read the whole series but I stopped after a while. I am 100% buying these for my daughter. First Grader was a book that I know helped me out during my first-grade year and it was so relatable to me. My mom bought the books for me and I could never get enough.

Junie B., First Grader (at Last!) (Junie B. Jones #18by Barbara Park

Goodreads Synopsis:
The 18th installment in Barbara Park’s popular beginning chapter-book series puts our temperamental heroine into a brand-new class where she has to make brand-new friends. And as if that weren’t hard enough, her brand-new teacher, Mr. Scary (“He made that name up, I believe,” Junie writes in a journal assignment), figures out that she needs eyeglasses. Will all the other kids laugh at her? Will that obnoxious Excellent-plus-getting May become even more obnoxious?

Final Thoughts on Book

Junie B. was so witty and sarcastic. I think that is why I loved her so much because she was me. Her responses and reactions to everything were exactly how I would react and respond. She was incredibly hilarious and Park had a real knack for creating the dialogue that felt authentic to the age group she was representing. Junie B. was not just for the outspoken girls but she was for everyone. She was empowering in my opinion because she did what she wanted but she also learned from her mistakes. If you have kids BUY THESE BOOKS. They are easy to read and you could read them in one or two sittings. They are easy chapter books but still have some depth and character development. But, they also include some Ludacris situations that will have you rolling and laughing out loud.
