Opposites Book Tag

Hello, evil gremlins. Today is opposite day! I saw this on Dreamland Book Blog. Here is what she had to say about this yin-yang book tag:

“The idea of this tag is that you have to answer a number of questions concerning opposites in the world of books. I’m only going to pick books from my own bookshelf since, well…it’s just going to be easier that way.”

Now to the questions.

The first book in your collection/Last book you bought

Well, I am already going to suck at this because I have no idea what the first book in my collection was. It could’ve been a few books, to be honest. I know the Twilight series was one of the first few so I will go with that.

The last book I bought was TBA.

A cheap book/An expensive book.

My cheapest books were thrift store books. I can’t remember all of them but Insomnia was one of them.

One of my expensive books was the UK cover for Vicious for about $20.

A book with a male protagonist/One with a female protagonist.

A male protagonist book is the Percy Jackson series. I love those books so much and I am doing a re-read next year and I CANNOT wait. I have not read them since eighth grade. That was about 10 or 11 years ago. DUDE!!!! Percy is literally king guys.

A female protagonist book is Daughter of the Pirate King duology. I chose this one because Alosa is a siren and Percy can control water. So, my water children obviously had to be who I chose. Alosa is so badass. She leads a crew of girl pirates and she kicks butt.

A book you read fast/One that took you long to read.

I read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer in a day. I was hooked and legit could not put it down.

I took quite a few years to finish Interview With the Vampire not because it was bad. It was literally excellent. One of my favorites. But, I read it for my 12th grade English class for a paper. But time was ticking so I wrote the paper without finishing the book (I got an A+ mwhahaha.) Then life got in the way.

Pretty cover/Ugly cover

I ADORE the illustrations on Riordan’s books so much. They are gorgeous and this one, in particular, is STUNNING. The visual is so beautiful.

Silvera recked me with this book but, the cover leaves much to be desired. I love simple covers but this one just does not do it for me.

A national book/An international book.

I am not sure if this means setting or where I bought it. But the blog I found this tag on did it for setting so I will too.

A book that takes place in America would be Divergent.

A book that takes place internationally would be A Darker Shade of Magic (Londons.)

A thin book/A thick book.

My thinnest book is the Twelfth Night.

One of my thicker ones is Lord of Shadows.

Fiction book/Non-fiction book.

A fiction book The Gentlemen’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and really any other book in this tag lol.

I don’t read much non-fiction but one I did and loved was Angela’s Ashes.

Very (way too) romantic book/Action book.

I don’t think anything is too much unless the premise promises me something else. If I am supposed to be reading a daring adventure and all I have is a love triangle in my face I will be annoyed lol. But I don’t remember if I have had this issue for either so.

New adult books are very romantic so I will say Kiss the Sky (although I wouldn’t say too much.)

Fantasy books tend to have the most action for me and one of the bloodiest ones were the Broken Empire trilogy.

A book that made you happy/One that made you sad.

All my books make me happy lol. But, King of the Seven Lakes made me extremely happy.

Female of the Species made me so sad. I cried at the end. Lol, I hate when I cry. Authors are evil.
