He’s reckless, dominant, and deliciously dirty. This prince is no fairytale. Prince Ruben of Helgmøre knows exactly what he wants—and his current obsession is Cherry Neita. Everything from her rollercoaster curves to her fearsome attitude commands his attention. And best of all? She has no idea who Ruben is. Until the paparazzi catch them in a dark alley, her scarlet lipstick smudged, and his hands somewhere naughty…All Cherry wanted was a night or two with the hottest man she’d ever seen. Turns out, that man is actually a prince, and now he needs her to play princess. Well, princess-to-be. One year as his fake fiancée, and he’ll make all her problems disappear. Easy. Right? Wrong. The closer Cherry gets to Ruben, the brighter their passion burns. But the royal family hides dark secrets, and their palace is a diamond-studded trap. Can true love bloom from false beginnings? Or will this fairytale end in a happy-never-after?

Talia Hibbert is slowly becoming my NA queen along with R. Scarlett and the Ritchies. But she is coming out on top. Listen, many NA authors write smut and plot as an afterthought, not Miss Hibbert. She gives me a full story with characters who have depth and the smut is incorporated into it in a meaningful way. Some books the smut comes early and some books it comes late because it all depends on the character’s story. The Princess Trap was a fun fake dating trope romance that left my heart full. In the story, we follow Cherry and Ruben. Cherry is a feisty girl who knows how to work her charm and Ruben is a prince that is trying to do his best in life. Ruben doesn’t want people to know who he is for the moment but when he and Cherry get caught in a compromising position he may have to rethink that. He blurts out the only thing that comes to mind to save her from the cameras, “She is my fiancée.” Now they have to fool his family, who he has a very strained relationship with, to keep the charade up. But the prince doesn’t have as easy a life as Cherry might think. As they get to know each other more secrets are revealed that will make your heartbreak. There are trigger warnings for abuse and violence.

Miss Hibbert knows how to make my heart completely ache and I truly want her to never stop writing. I didn’t know how much her writing would affect me but I don’t know what I was doing with my life before her novels. Her writing is really beautiful and makes me truly happy. Her sex scenes are not cringy at all like some people can be and she doesn’t write it every five pages. It’s placed at intricate parts of the story to actually make sense with the plot. I need Hibbert to stop writing men that are achingly beautiful and wonderful to their women because it makes me so sad. Her novels remind me how single I am but I don’t mind they are stunning. She handles triggering things with grace and taste. It’s never for shock value or done in a way that is disrespectful to people who have been through certain traumas. I also love how her novels are always interracial romance and the women are diverse in body sizes in all of them that I have read so far. Plus she has a diversity in the sexualities of her characters in this case Ruben is bisexual.

Cherry is so charming and I loved her. She is feisty but not in a stereotyped way. She knows who she is what she wants. She cares so much for her family and will do anything to help them. She is a really good person and she is stunning. Ruben is my sunshine apple pie. Literally, this man is so soft on the inside but in the bedroom, he is this domineering man that just makes me melt. I want him. If you are a Ruben please contact me. He has been through so much but he still cares so deeply for people and it will make your heart so soft for him. It’s disgusting how much he means to me.

Cherry and Ruben take fake dating to a whole new level. The angst, the pinning, the romance UGH! The slow build to the real love was so good and really made my heart swell with joy. I was on edge because I just wanted them to be happy and in love. Miss Hibbert needs to stop but also never stop. I deserve compensation for what she has done to my heart like she can’t write men like this and not give me contact information.

Ruben wondered what had happened to the men stationed outside. Then he watched her hips sway as she walked, and decided they’d probably passed out at the sight of her.
She turned to Tabary and flashed him a smile, wider this time—and Jesus f****** Christ, she had dimples. That simply wasn’t fair.
“I mean I’d like your company. Anywhere.”
She had a ridiculously defined cupid’s bow. He wanted to trace it with his tongue.
But that hand on her neck was was big and rough and demanding. His fingers sank into her hair, tightening slightly around the roots, and he pulled her head back, just a little. Just enough to make it clear that he was in charge.
A weakness isn’t a weakness so long as you accept it.
“You’re so f****** soft,” he whispered. “I want to touch you everywhere. I can’t even f****** tell you.”
He ground into her, and when she finally ended up face down on the pillow, he placed a hand on the back of her neck to hold her still and said, “Good girl.” She bit down a whimper at the sound of that deep voice, the feel of his hand. Controlling, demanding, protecting.
To obey. To submit. To yield to me. He said, “You need to know I’ve got you. And I do. You know that, don’t you?”
“I am angry with him because he never looks out for himself. He thinks he can handle anything. He thinks if he can’t handle something, it’s a weakness and the end of the world, instead of a normal human limitation.”
People are many things at once; that’s the beauty of humanity.
His voice was calm and steady as he continued. “I want control. I want you to give yourself to me, because you know I’ll look after you. Understand?”
He wanted to own Cherry, because she already owned him. And she didn’t even know it.
“I like control,” he said, his voice slightly raw. “I like rough sex. I don’t want to accept your submission. I want to work for it.” He hesitated. Forced himself to continue, because truth mattered. “I want to take it. Oh, and I have an oral fetish. You understand?”
“Good girl. F*** good girl.”
“Understand this,” he said. Kiss. “You are mine.” Kiss. “I know what you need.” Kiss. “And right now, you need to spread your legs like a good little girl and let me do all the work.”
“Stand up,” he ordered, sounding as desperate as he felt. So much for f****** control. “Let me see you.”
“Fine,” he sighed. “I’ll have to save my seduction techniques for later.” “Yes,” she said crisply. “I suppose you will.” God, he loved this woman.
