Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag

I saw tons of people participating in this so I wanted to give it a whirl.

Q1: The Best book that you’ve read so far in 2018?

I think you all know I can never just say one I have read a lot of amazing books and they all are my “best.” But for the sake of this tag, I will say two of my favorites that were released in 2018 and two that were not. King of the Seven Lakes and The Cruel Prince are two of my favorites released this year. The Wicker King and Retribution Rails are two favorites not released this year.

Q2: The Best sequel that you’ve read so far in 2018?

Daughter of the Siren Queen and Lord of Shadows.

Q3: New release that you haven’t read yet but want to?

Smoke in the Sun and All of This Is True.

Q4: Most anticipated release for the next half of 2018?

Vengeful, Queen of Air and Darkness, and The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy.

Q5: Biggest disappointment in 2018?

From NetGalley it would be The Hazel Wood and from a book I bought Labyrinth Lost.

Q6: Biggest surprise in 2018?

Pen & Xander, The Tempation of Adam and The Philosopher’s Flight.

Q7: Favourite new author (debut or new to you)?

Adam Silvera, Amanda Foody, Sarah Glenn Marsh, and Mackenzi Lee. None of these are new authors but they are new to me. My favorite that debuted this year was Tomi Adeyemi.

Q8: Newest fictional crush?

Jem Carstairs, Connor Cobalt, Oscar Oliveria, Kieran of the Hunt, and Prince Cardan.

Q9: Newest favorite character?

Wayyyyy tooo many.

The Kite Runner, The Female of the Species, and History is All You Left Me.

Q11: A book that made you happy?

All of my favorites make me happy to be honest.

Q12: The most beautiful book you’ve bought or received in 2018?

Children of Blood and Bone, Legnedary, new Vicious covers, Retribution Rails, Vengance Road, Ace of Shades, Cloaked in Shadow, Found in Night, Amour Amour, Daughter of the Siren Queen, and The Wicker King.

Q13: What books do you need to read by the end of 2018?

All the ones I have planned 🙂

  1. I can’t believe we’re already half way through 2018! I’ve heard fantastic things about The Kite Runner but I’m hesitant to read it because I’ve also heard it’s really sad…

  2. So excited to see Amanda Foody on your list of favorite new authors. I really enjoyed Ace of Shades so much. I really can’t wait for the next one to come out. I am excited to see Sarah Glenn Marsh on there too. I still really need to read her book but she’s a sweetheart.

  3. Jem is a gem! We all know that! And I look forward to Queen of Air and Darkness, too! Although I need to finish rereading the Shadohunters’ Chronicles first!
As for Amanda Foody, I’m glad I read Daughter of the Burning City last year and got the chance to work with her both last year and this year, during the promotion of Ace of Shades!
Again… so many books, so little time, Kitty!

      1. I wasn’t a huge fan of TMI and so I have to read City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire to have a full image in my mind regarding the series. It was thanks to TID that I gave the original series another chance.
I’m so looking forward to the T-shirts, too!
