This month I am reading seven ebooks and three physical books. I am tackling a good chunk of my NetGalley books this month so that is huge for me because then I can start requesting again. I am excited to see what they all have in store for me.
1) The Cruel Prince
I love the sound of this book so much. I am super excited to dive into this fairy world and see what everyone has been raving about.
2) Forest of a Thousand Lanterns
I really love the sound of this story a lot. “An East Asian fantasy reimagining of The Evil Queen legend about one peasant girl’s quest to become Empress–and the darkness she must unleash to achieve her destiny.” I love reimagining tales a lot and it seems to be told in The Evil Queens POV and a backstory to how she got there. So, I am super excited about this one.
3) Fuel the Fire
This is one of the final stories in the Addicted/Calloway sisters series. I have been loving this series so much and can not wait to get back to my favorite dom/sub relationship between Connor and Rose. I can’t wait to see how married life and pregnancy is going for them.
4) Long Way Down
After I finish Fuel the Fire, Long Way Down is the second to last book the series. Ryke and Daisy are the wild favorites that I adore so much. They are together even with so many people against them and I can’t wait to see how they fair in their new struggles.
5) The Merry Spinster
“A collection of darkly playful stories based on classic folk and fairy tales (but with a feminist spin) that find the sinister in the familiar and the familiar in the alien.” I love anthologies and books that have a collection of stories. I love the sound of this one especially since it is dark yet playful and it features fairy tales. Sounds like my kind of book.
6) The Philosopher’s Flight
“The Philosopher’s Flight is an epic historical fantasy set in a World-War-I-era America where magic and science have blended into a single extraordinary art.” My favorite genres are fantasy and historical fiction. I have never read a book that blended the two so my interest is peaked. I want to dive into this world and devour it. I hope it is not a disappointment.
7) The Wicked Deep
“Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic meets the Salem Witch trials in this haunting story about three sisters on a quest for revenge—and how love may be the only thing powerful enough to stop them.” After recently reading Vengeance Road and Retribution Rails I must say I love a good revenge novel. But, I am going into this guarded because Erin Bowman gave me a nasty and real revenge novel where the people looking for vengeance shoot first and talk later. So, I am hoping this novel doesn’t disappoint.
8) The Unforgotten
“…this haunting debut novel “with a slight Broadchurch feel” (Sunday Herald) explores the devastating repercussions of a long-ago crime as it delves into forbidden relationships, the emotional bond between mothers and daughters, and the dark consequences of harboring secrets.” This book sounds dark and twisted. The romance sounds forbidden and taboo. I don’t usually read mystery/thriller but it sounds like it can be really good.
9) The Life & Death Parade
“From rising star Eliza Wass comes a sophisticated, mesmerizing meditation on the depths of grief and the magic of faith. After all, it only works if you believe it.” The cover of this book is gorgeous and the synopsis sounds super intriguing.
10) The Wicker King
“The Wicker King is a psychological young adult thriller that follows two friends struggling as one spirals into madness.” The cover is gorgeous so that sold me. The synopsis is twisted and thrilling so that sold me. And it is a guys point of view so that sold me. Basically, I am sold.
I can’t wait to read all these books and see what they are about. What are you reading this month?
