Time just flies when you are reading great books. Since mid-month it is time that I share some of the books that I have been reading that I probably won’t have time to tell you about otherwise.
You know, I have to squeeze in as much book talk as I possible can.
Anna was a normal everyday gal, when she started getting a slight burning sensation while working on her computer. Her condition morphs into a super severe photo-sensitivity that when it is at it’s worst forces her to live in complete darkness. It is both heart-breaking and hopeful.
Joy is working the night shift at a grocery store when a crazy disease spreads across Boston, it starts with memory loss and ends in death. As the disease sweeps across the country she joins a group of other disease-immune folks living in a hospital in Kansas. She escapes and heads to Florida to look for her mom.
Kate spent one perfect summer staying at the cabins at Lost Lake in Suley, GA when she was 12. Now years later her husband is dead and her mother-in-law is taking over. Kate runs back to Lost Lake to find the magic she lost. This book is light and fresh and perfect for a sunny day read under a shade tree.
This short story collection is chock full of superheros, life-sized robot boyfriends, ghosts, Ouija boards, pyramids, and stalker-ish ex boyfriends. All of the stories have a peculiar creepy and unnerving tone which makes the stories compelling if a bit off putting.
What have you been reading lately?
I am linking up over at Modern Mrs Darcy. Head on over there and see what everyone else has been reading.
