Sunday afternoon Jesse and I dropped the dog off at daycare and grabbed some beers (and snacks) to spend a few days with my family at a waterpark resort.
We call it the Wilhelm Retreat.
Even though I am splashing with my nieces and nephews in the pool and desperately trying to get into Team Cheetah* the Tournament of Books starts today and I am pretty excited.
If you are not familar you can read the official Primer, but all you really need to know is that it is March Madness for book worms.
There is even a bracket:
I was not even close to reading all the books this year. I managed three: A Little Life, The Turner House, and Fates and Furies. I am listening to the audio version of A Spool of Blue Thread, I have The Sellout queued up next and I just got a notice from the library the The Tsar of Love and Techno is waiting for me.
So this year I am going to leave my bracket blank. (If you want to print one out, head over here.) I am going to follow along, read the commentary and wonder if A Little Life is going to sweep the whole thing.
Do you have your bracket filled out?
*Team Cheetah, in case you are wondering, comes from the wonderful mind of my four-year-old nephew Gavin who has a weird obsession with Cheetahs. According to him members of Team Cheetah eat snacks and watch Scooby. So obviously it is fabulous and I am desperate to make the cut. Wish me luck.
