Life is a Battlefield.
Especially if you are a competitive ballerina or are living behind the walls of a juvenile detention center.
Violet has her eyes set on the prize of ballerina stardom, but she is second fiddle to her BFF Ori. Amber is a troubled girl, re-living the last month of her life in a juvenile facility, starting around the time Ori joins their midst.
I can’t go into to much of the plot without getting into spoiler territory but the story is strange and confusing and wonderful. The story twists and turns and right when you think you have it all figured out, the end happens. That is when I realized that the story was much different (better) that I expected.
On the outside, there’s Violet, an eighteen-year-old dancer days away from the life of her dreams when something threatens to expose the shocking truth of her achievement.
On the inside, within the walls of the Aurora Hills juvenile detention center, there’s Amber, locked up for so long she can’t imagine freedom.
Tying their two worlds together is Orianna, who holds the key to unlocking all the girls’ darkest mysteries…
What really happened on the night Orianna stepped between Violet and her tormentors? What really happened on two strange nights at Aurora Hills? Will Amber and Violet and Orianna ever get the justice they deserve—in this life or in another one?
