I like my comics like my TV shows: completely finished. Unfortunately it seems like all the juicy comics are still going strong. So I was pretty excited to find out that Joe Hill, the son of the great Stephen King and the man you freaked me out royally with NOS4A2 has a comic series that wrapped up a few years back.
Locke & Key has everything you are looking for in a Joe Hill book: plucky teenagers, a rambling mansion, a gender-bending bad guy/gal, magical keys, creepy monsters and a portal to another dimension under the house. It is the perfect combination of thriller and creep-fest that is perfect this time of year.
If you are an audiobook listener you should need to check out the Locke & Key audio drama that is FREE (!) on Audible until Nov 4th.
Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them. Home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all…
