Last Thursday morning, during my commute and the first part of my work day, I listed to the final episode of Books on the Nightstand.
Cue the tears.
BOTNS was the first podcast I ever listened to. I was new to the Twittersphere when I came across someone mentioning that a new episode was out and I was intrigued by the promise of book talk so I downloaded a few episodes to an off brand iPod I had at the time.
I quickly became obsessed.
So over the course of a next couple months I dived into the backlist of their episodes and listened to them all. This led me to more podcasts and to getting an iPhone to make downloading and listening to these easier. Now years later, I have almost 60 podcasts on my podcatcher and annoy the crap out all my husband by constantly dropping factoids I learned from a podcast.
When Michael and Ann announce a few weeks ago that they were closing up shop I was disappointed.
But I get it.
Writing a blog is a lot of work and I can’t imagine how much work a podcast would be (although I think about it sometimes). I have spent so much time with Michael and Ann over the years that I kind of feels like I am breaking up with a friend.
Lucky for me podcasts have exploded and I have opportunities for new friends all over the place.
Psst. What is your favorite book podcast?
