I am a total fangirl. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the handful of books that I have read over and over and over. So when I heard the news about this book there was lots of jumping, squealing and muppet arming. (See below).
Now that the release date is almost upon us, I am getting a bit scared.
Maybe there is a reason that the editors made Harper rework the book. Maybe there is a reason that Harper stashed it in a vault. Maybe if Harper was in her right mind, she would have said “Hell No!” they they approached her to publish it. Maybe the book will be good, but not great and people (and myself) will be disappointed.
That is a lot of maybes. That is why I am angsty.
Don’t worry about me too much friends, I am prepared (even if I am angsty):
- I took July 14 off of work. (Seriously)
- I preordered the hardcover from my favorite indie.
- I preordered the audiobook, so I can listen on the way to my favorite indie.
I am linking up over at the Quirky Bookworm. Head over there and see what has been bothering the other bookworms.
