Good Morning fellow Reathoners, the day is finally upon us! I got up early, showered, put on my comfy sweater and made some coffee; so I am pretty much ready to go.
What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I live on a farm 5 miles outside of a small town in Minnesota that no one has heard of.
Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I have a pile of comics I am excited for: Lumberjanes, Sex Criminals, Bitch Planet, Y the Last Man.
Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Chai. Not really a ‘snack’ per say but it is my jam.
Tell us a little something about yourself!
Errr. I like books. . . . I have a dog, chickens and a couple cows. . . .
If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my first readathon and I am looking forward to connecting with loads of other book lovers!
I woke up early this morning. Got the coffee going, took the dog for a walk in the pitch dark, fed the chickens. I sat down at my computer to make sure everything was situated for go time and . . . no internet.
So I did what any good bookworm would do and I started reading. To be more precise I turned on an audiobook and painted part of my bathroom. A couple hours later, still audibook-ing, no internet.
To make a long story short, I sat down next to my router and rebooting it a couple minutes ago and it fired right up. How long has the internet been working? Who knows. I am trying not to think to hard about it.

How many books have you read so far?
2! (see above)
What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Bitch Planet and Girl Waits with Gun.
Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Only when my husband came home, but since he had been gone all day, I figured I should talk to him.
What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
For some strange reason, I get a LOT of housework done when I am suppose to be reading all day. What’s up with that?! Thank goodness for audiobooks!
When I got home from beers and pizza with friends, I was tired. So tired. I went to bed but woke up early to finish my last book. I like reading in the wee hours. My house is so quiet and cozy.
Which hour was most daunting for you?
It was right around the time I normal go to be that was the worst, so I gave in to temptation and went to be for a while
Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
Comics! They are fast a fun!
Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?

I loved all of the fun chatter on Twitter.

Which book did you enjoy most?
Lumberjanes, definitely Lumberjanes!
Which did you enjoy least?
All of mine where winners!
How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?
Now, that I have done Dewey I am in for it again for sure. And I am planning on being some kind of helper.
