This September my hubby and I are heading to St Louis for an extended weekend. Neither of us have been there before so we would like to see the sights: the arch, the museums, the parks.
Another thing I have been checking out is bookstores. Obviously.
Whenever we head out on a road trip, I do a quick search for indie bookstores in the area. Then I steer the car in that direction and ‘Oh look, my patient husband, a bookstore! Let’s check it out!’
Lucky for me, there is no shortage of bookstore in St Louis. I narrowed it down to a choice few I am planning on steer the car towards.
7905 Big Bend Blvd, Webster Groves
A charming, independent bookstore housed in a unique community space filled with work from local artists . . . .
6275 Delmar, St Louis
. . .focusing on the independent book store best sellers, cult classics, small presses, timeless literature, and anything else that catches our fancy.
7352 Manchester Rd, Maplewood
We have over 350,000 books acquired from hundreds of collections, auctions, and suppliers over the last 25 years. Come browse our extensive and eclectic mix of quality rare, out-of-print, new, and used books . . . .
A portion of the proceeds go to a charity to help people with developmental disabilities.
399 North Euclid, St. Louis
We are the oldest and largest independently-owned bookstore in St. Louis, and we offer a full-line of new and used books, gifts, cards, magazines, toys and services.
It has to be great if it has been open since 1969.
