Sometime over the course of July I burned by my Goodreads reading goal. Even though I set my goal on the low side, that is still pretty fast. I have a feeling it has something to do with me hiding from the heat inside my house (in the air conditioning) and reading comics.
A Few Bookish Things I learned in July:
Terry Tempest Williams is a complete rock star. Not only was her talk/reading as moving and wonderful that you would think; there was so many people there who wanted to talk to her for so long that I could stick around for long enough to get my book signed.
Any books about food and farming are my favorites. It doesn’t matter if it is a memoir or straight up fiction, I love them all.
I really don’t know where Tana French has been all my life. I mean people have been telling me about her books for years, and now that I started I cannot stop. Luckily, there is a new one coming out this fall.
I have read Gatsby more than 10 times and I still find it lovely. I remember when I read it in school I wasn’t that into it. I read it again in my twenties and have read it again ever summer since then.
